A Nigerian corper who is serving at her place of primary assignment at Salvation Secondary School in Nding Loh, a community in Fan district of Barkin Ladi Local Government Area, Plateau State.
Miss Sarah Ihuoma said that she came across the school which was in a state of disrepair when she was going around the place so as to familiarize herself with the community.
“I came to Nding and found a new home and a family.
“While staying with the people, I took out time to take a look around the community school and what I saw was disheartening.
“The school was an eyesore; unworthy of a learning environment.
“The walls and floors of the school were broken, some of the classrooms were without desks and there was no toilet in the school.
“I felt the burden to help but was scared of the financial implications,” she said.
The corper said that she met with Mr. Jack Gyang, a member of the community who cares about the state of the school advised on how to go about it
She also added that it was not easy for her as there were lots of challenges and discouragements.
But she thanks God for successfully reaching her goal as regards the project.
