Nigerian Innovates a Ventilator

In this challenging moment of COVID 19, the abundance of a ventilator is a blessing in disguise. Ventilators give a patient with worse effects of the infections the best chance of survival. The ventilator takes over the body’s breathing process when the lungs have failed.

Jerry Isaac Mallo is the CEO of Benni Company. He innovated Nigeria’s First ‘Carbon Fibre’ Sports Car in 2019. He thought it wise to innovate a ventilator to solve the shortage in supply of ventilator in Africa and also to ease the harsh effect of COVID 19.

The prototype was sponsored by the Plateau state government. But prototype was not enough, he said.
A team of medical personnel accessed the prototype and said it would be useful if only there was an improvement on it.

According to him, the ventilators he produced is in response to the desire for a cheap and affordable ventilator. The ventilator is still under technical upgrade to enable it to fit a world-class standard.
