Kind Gesture Transforms a Lagos Hawker to a Salary Earner

The life of a Lagos Hawker, Ekuma Jeremiah took a U-turn through his simple act of kindness.

Ekuma Jeremiah was formerly a law student of Ebony state University before life took a heavy toll on him. In the struggle, Ekuma Jeremiah sold on the streets and was able to obtain a JAMB form and secured admission with funds from his friends in Porth Harcourt

After a few years on campus, he could no longer afford his fees, and then he decided to drop out of school. He relocated to Lagos so as to avoid the embarrassment from friends who were already calling him a Lawyer.

Getting to Lagos, Jeremiah got back on the streets and sold bottled water for a living.

A few days ago, Jeremiah was off on the street for his usual hawking duty. When he saw a group of prisoners in Correctional Service van at Ajah area of Lagos. One of the prisoners called him and asked for help, seeing his countenance, he felt sorry and gave him (the prisoner )100 naira, and the others started requesting money. He exhausted all the hundred naira notes on him. Unknowing to him, he was captured in a video and the video became a trend on social media.

Nigerians applauded him through their comments but Obi Iyiegbu popularly known as Obi Cubana rewarded his kind gestures through a scholarship to any school of his choice. While another Nigerian couple in the diaspora by the name Mr &Mrs. Afuah offered him a hundred thousand naira salary.

Jeremiah’s life has just proved that indeed, no condition is permanent.
