Herculean Foundation Touching lives in Kwara State

The face of the Herculean foundation Mr. Christopher Olusegun Ayodele Omotunde revealed the purpose of improving health in the country through the Herculean Foundation.

Founded in 2016 in Nigeria, the foundation has touched lives in various communities in Kwara State before being sidelined by COVID-19 in 2020.

The foundation has been to almost all the communities in Ifelodun LGA in Kwara State. They have been to Oke-Ode, Omupo, Amoyo, Oreke, Oruago, Share, Ora, Babanloma, Idofian, Shagbe, Owode-Ofaru, and Offa.

At Oke-Ode, the foundation provided seven motorized boreholes, notebooks, eye care, and health care services. In 2018 and 2019, they provided health services in Omupo.

Also, the foundation empowered women in the Babanloma community. They provided them with clothes, educational materials for their kids, and food items to ease poverty.

According to the face of the foundation, he has not faced any challenges despite being a one-man initiative. He also disclosed that it encourages him to help people and bring smiles to their faces.

“It started about four-and-a-half years ago, when we started, I started in my home (Oke-Ode). I brought some doctors from California and gave intensive health care treatment for them.

“I have not faced any challenges because I am up to the task that is why it is called Herculean, there is no challenge and I have not seen any that I can’t defeat.

“It’s been a successful journey because when you help people and you see the smile on their faces, it encourages me to as an individual.

“We have been all over. We have gone through all communities in Ifelodun LGA. We have been to Omupo, Amoyo, Oreke, Oruago, Ora, Babanloma, Idofian, and Offa.

This is a one-man action, not an action where the government is funding me. I am funding the organization because in Nigeria it is difficult to donate, they don’t. But if it is a party they would donate. I am founding it systematically and I have to make it work for me.

Currently, the foundation is in Offa providing eye care treatments for the residence of the community.

Finally, the face of the foundation highlights the purpose of staging the three-day program in Offa.

“We are here to bring health care, we are here to help our people who cannot afford to see doctors let them know their health status so they can be informed and have longevity.

Herculean Foundation (HF) began its community development program in Offa on Wednesday.

The foundation which was found by Christopher Olusegun Ayodele Omotunde is a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) that helps to provide quality health treatment and social amenities to rural communities.

According to the face of the foundation, Mr. Christopher OluSegun Ayodele Omotunde, the foundation is aimed to elevate and help people in the country.

Also, he disclosed that he named the foundation Herculean because he believes it is a great task to help Nigerians without the intervention of the government.

However, after so much thought, he decided to start assisting people from the health sector to inform them about their health conditions.

“Well, the foundation is not about Nigeria but Africa in general. Sitting down in my home in California I look at the poverty rate in Africa but particularly in Nigeria.

“I looked at myself and say what can I do to elevate and help our people in general. And I come up with a name which is Herculean which means Great Task.

“It is a great task to come among 220 million people to try and help, provide, the little you can to help them out. Where do you start? You start from health, health is wealth they say. So I decided to start with the health system, and inform our people about their situation health-wise.

“We provide eye exams blood pressure, and, diabetes e.t.c.

On Wednesday, the Foundation began its operation at the palace of Olofa of Offa. They began operation with the chiefs of Monarch, testing their blood pressure and eye effect.

The chiefs were also handed eyeglasses to correct their eye defect
