COVID-19: Zamfara State Government Disinfects Its Environs

Upon the persistent spread of this virus across the world and with the discovery of cases in Zamfara state, the state government has commenced the disinfection of the state to reduce the rapid spread of the virus.

The act is being carried out as a door-to-door service from residential buildings to offices to markets, hospitals and several other public places.

The Governor of the state, Governor Bello Muhammad Matawalle in a press statement revealed that the motive behind the exercise was to cleanse and rid the state of the global ravaging pandemic, Covid-19, and other multiparous airborne vis-a-vis infectious diseases in order to ensure not only clean but a healthy Zamfara state.

The Governor still explaining said that the joint partnership of the companies engaged by the state government has already taken appropriate measures towards achieving the objective. He stressed that his government has engaged the services of Multiplus Investment and Jongri steel structures to conduct aerial and land fumigation to disinfect public environs and ensure cleanliness in the fourteen local governments of the state.

The companies according to him have procured all necessary small, medium and sophisticated sprayer machines and other relevant equipment that have been distributed for use across the 14 local government areas of the state.

Adhoc staff according to him have been drawn across the 14 LGAs and were equipped with basic technical training by the team of health and environmental professionals while relevant working materials and kits have been provided to each of the Adhoc staff to stimulate their efficiency in carrying out the exercise across the state.

The exercise which was undertaken under the joint supervision of the state ministry of environment and solid minerals and the state ministry for local governments and community development has since commenced.

This is a good move.
