Ibitoye Olajide, a strong Nigerian man has made it known through his actions that Nigerians are ready for the future as he built a sports car on his own.
Ibitoye said that he spent four good years building the car because of the lack of funds but with the allowance he got from the government during his service years, he was able to successfully build the beautiful car.
Ibitoye Olajide, a young Nigerian man who singlehandedly built a sports car hails from Orin Ekiti in Ekiti state.
He revealed in an interview that he had his secondary school education at the Polytechnic High School in Ibadan.
He said he would have wanted to study mechanical engineering at the Olabisi Onabajo University but he was denied admission on two different occasions.
He was later given an admission to study plant science, the young man said he started the project of the sports car when he was in his final year.
He has a strong passion for machines and he was determined that his first will be built by himself.
Speaking about his challenges as an engineer, he said:
“The first one is money, I couldn’t get sponsors, the second is tools and the third is people’s perspective, what they say about the project but I didn’t allow those things to weigh me down.”
The man revealed that he spent a total number of four years concluding the project. During his National Youth Service Crops programme, he was able to save 80% of his allowance to fund car production.
