Pastor Chris Oyakhilome’s Foundation Provides Assistance to Lagos State Government in Fight Against COVID-19

COVID-19 is no longer news to the deaf, just as hunger visit the stomach of Nigerians, especially those who feed based on daily income.

The Inner-city Mission decided to reach out to the vulnerable in Lagos.

The Inner-city Mission is a faith-based organization whose aim is to reach out to indigent children. It was founded by Pastor Chris Oyakhilome. Ever since it’s inception a lot of children without proper care have not just found care but also found life, outside the home.

The Inner-city as directed by Mrs Omoh Alabi and her team made presentations to the Lagos State government for families and children in need due to the Coronavirus.

Mrs Alabi said, “We deem it necessary, as a faith-based organisation to lend our own support for the laudable efforts of the government to cushion the unsettling effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on many families in Lagos State.”

“As a caring organisation, we realized that we cannot be indifferent to the plight of many challenged masses of the state. We are trying to stretch out a hand of kindness to those who ordinarily will not have anyone to care for them,” she stated.

“Our goal is to ensure that indigent children and families are safe and fed even as the world fights against Covid19. As we reach out to these needy with food supplies, it is our prayer that soon we will be able to put this behind us and our cities will return back to normal,” she added.

She was well received by the Commissioner for Agriculture;  Gbolahan Lawal and the state’s commissioner for Wealth Creation Hon. (Mrs) Yetunde Arobieke at the Lagos State Agricultural Development Authority office.

The organization took it as a responsibility to distribute the food items so as to obey the directive of the government – stay at home and to reduce the spread of the virus.

The Commissioner for Agriculture; however, appreciated the kind gesture of the Inner-city Mission for children.
