Nigerian Woman’s Supposed Flaw Brought her Fame and Fortune

Recently, Nigerians woke up to the trending news of a woman, Risikat Azeez, who claimed to have been abandoned with her children by her husband because of her blue eyeballs. Until the issue that led to her abandonment, she resides in Ilorin, Kwara State, Nigeria with her supposed husband.

The reactions of Nigerians to the news had many lambasting the husband how humane he was to leave the woman with children to such fate.

punchng.com, Ilorin, Kwara State chapter revealed in a video interview with the woman explaining how she resulted in her present predicament. In her words, “My husband whose name is Abdul Wasiu Omo-Dada is very aware of the condition of my eyes and he loved me for who I am. Things started getting bad when I had my first child and later my second child. He totally changed and he would shut me up and walk out on me whenever I tried to start a conversation with him.”

She added that her parents later advised her to leave his house instead of enduring emotional abuse and such ill-treatment and to further proved her points right was the fact that since she left his house, he never came asking for herself nor the children.

Many questions crossed the mind of inquisitive Nigerians who wanted to know if he didn’t see her eyes before going into a relationship with her until after she had given birth to two kids.

While this and many other questions remained unanswered, she was later advised by some of her friends to seek media aid and assistance. That singular step made her fame travelled left, right and center until she caught the attention of different dignitaries who took her in for clean-up and the transformation is quite amazing.

The First Lady of Kwara State, Mrs Olufolake Abdulrazaq, has donated N250,000 cash for the upkeep of Risikat and her children.

In addition, the wife of immediate past Senate President and former governor of Kwara State,  Mrs Toyin Saraki through her pet project, Wellbeing Foundation Africa, has also donated N250,000 to her and the children.

Furthermore, the First Lady of Nigeria has announced a scholarship for the enrollment of the two children at Roemichs International School, an expensive school for children of the rich.

Kwara State Ministry of Health was also given the mandate to provide a corrective medical intervention for the eyeballs of Risikat and her two children. A Consultant Ophthalmologist at the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital, Dr Dupe Ademola-Popoola, has been contacted. She has visited the family, assessed the lady and her two children and has assured that their eyeballs would return to the normal colour again.
