Kwara State Government to construct More Borehole to Further Changes Water Situation in the State

Kwara State Governor Mallam  AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq  has completed the drilling of no fewer than 14 motorised boreholes in various parts of Baruten local government area of the state to further ease water scarcity confronting the people of the area.

Commissioner for Water Resources Hajia  Arinola Lawal dropped this hints in Ilorin the Kwara State capital through a release signed by the Press Secretary Olalekan Issa-Onilu, on the situation of water in Baruten local government area of the State.

In the release, the Commissioner said, work had concluded on the motorised boreholes in   Gure, Kosubosu, Geasoro, Okuta, Taberu, Ngurume, Ilesha Baruba, Shiya, and Boriya had completed work in all the mentioned community.

Arinola further explained that the aims of the governor were to complement the existing waterworks the administration has put in place.

According to her, the present Administration is concerned with the welfare of kwarans, saying, work is ongoing in the rehabilitation of Yashikira waterworks.

Reacting to the kind gestures of governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq on water Arinola asserted that, the present administration has clearly changed the narrative about the water situation in the state.

Arinola said, the Ministry of Water resources had given the mandate to fix the burst pipes and reticulation work in Igbaja town and Lafiagi, adding that the government will do more of reticulation in the year as captured in the 2020 budget.

The Commissioner had also assured some Community within Ilorin metropolis that the ongoing drilling of motorized boreholes is ongoing in some major areas such as Ita Koko, Ita Elepa by Offa Garage (Ilorin), Adefalu, Aliara village, and rehabilitation of some boreholes at Alanamu.

According to her, the rehabilitate of the ductile pipe at Alagbado bridge will start tomorrow the Ministry would monitor the project to ensure it completed on time.
