Amachree Foundation is a Non-Governmental Organization founded with a vision and various missions one of which is to positively affect the lives of individuals in a society.
In line with this mission was a decision taken to support the starving masses as a result of the lockdown in Rivers State, Nigeria.
The Director-General of the Foundation, Jamaiyi Ibieneye said the foundation gave out food items such as garri, beans, rice to people in their hundreds across 13wards of Asari Local Government Area of the State.
Still speaking, the DG said various news of undeserved degrees of hardship and suffering kept ringing in their ears on a daily basis and it would only be inhumane to fold their arms and watch the situation deteriorate without taking significant actions.
During an interview session with some of the beneficiaries, the newsmen reported that they expressed so much excitement and joy over the intervention by the foundation.
