The reality of COVID 19 seems to be fake as the government has created ease on lockdown.
Sir Emeka Offor Foundation(SEOF) decided to fight against COVID-19 with the absence or presence of lockdown.
SEOF is a foundation which started in 1990 but was incorporated in 2003. The effect of SEOF has been cut across the educational sector, humanitarian service and empowerment. Reports have it that the foundation has distributed books to universities, polytechnics, colleges of education, secondary schools in Nigeria and 18 other African countries valued at $30 million. This year, the foundation decided to go into the supplies of medical equipment. Nobody knows when COVID 19 would disappear, so the SEOF decided to be proactive. The foundation ordered 14 containers of medical equipment worth 15 million each. The beds donated by the foundation were given to The Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital (ABUTH) Zaria, with the promise to deliver more to hospitals around the country.
As a foundation whose priority is to be of help to both humans and the Nation at large ignored the idea of importing containers. All donations were locally sorted for and supplied from Kaduna.
The Chief Executive officer of SEOF; Chris Ezike said transportation and installation of the beds will be taken care of by the foundation.
Vice-Chancellor, ABU, Prof. Kabir Bala, appreciated foundation for her kind gesture. Chief Medical Director of ABUTH, Prof. Hamidu Umdagas, said even though ABUTH had no centre for COVID-19 yet they treated patients suffering from the virus.
