Nigerian Man, Lt. Victor Agunbiade Proved Worthy of the US Navy Award for Managing Over $45million Accountably

It is not the least to say that every human should be committed solely to doing good whether or not under supervision. The good that men do lives after them and goes before them in their lifetime.

Money is the root of all evil. Money has its way of attracting people. These and more are statements people make to justify the evil they do but self-control can help overcome whatever tactics it is money brings with a determined mind to do only what is right as against temptation.

Here is Lieutenant Agunbiade who was awarded the Navy and Marine Corp Development Medal for an exemplary display of worth, dignity and character in the US. Agunbiade relocated to the United States in 2007.

Agunbiade enlisted in the US Navy as a storekeeper in 2008 and was commissioned as a supply corps officer in 2013. In 2018, Agunbiade was named the Navy’s 2018 Officer Recruiter of the Year, alongside 17 others and honoured at the annual Recruiter of the Year ceremony in Washington D.C.

Agunbiade currently works with the largest cash disbursement office of the United States Navy. The US Navy in their testimonial about Lieutenant Agunbiade says he has always displayed a high level of expertise and professionalism while discharging his duties.

Notably, Agunbiade has effectively managed $45million dollars which are approximately N17billion, the money accounted for approximately 70% of its overseas disbursing volume. Additionally, he managed 100 per cent accountability of 23 million dollars (N8.7 billion) across six rigorous inspections and independent audits with zero discrepancies.

The award citation read that, He achieved all of this with unswerving determination, wise judgment and complete dedication to duty. The citation also added that Agunbiade has reflected great credit upon himself and upheld the highest traditions of the United States naval service.

Agunbiade became due for the award having faithfully and committedly served in his role as cash disbursing Officer at the navy’s Camp Lemonnier in Djibouti, between October 2019 to July this year.

We are proud to celebrate Lt. Agunbiade. Nigerians are amazing nonetheless.
