Nafiu Abdusalam is a Nigerian who had his Master’s degree at the Usman Dan Fodio University. Usmanu Dan Fodiyo University, Sokoto(UDUS) was named after Usman Dan Fodio, the founder of Sokoto caliphate.
Recently, Nafiu graduated from the school of medicine bagging different awards numbering 13 to countless accolades. Some of the awards include Best in Anatomy, Pathology, Basic Clinical Sciences, the best student in Medicine, overall best graduating doctor, Dr Anas Sabir’s award for the Best Graduating Doctor and NMA’s award for the Best Graduating Doctor. Medical Microbiology, Pharmacology and so on.
At the induction ceremony, the event which held at Ginginya coral hot, Sokoto State, 2nd November 2020 had UDUS Medical Graduate, College of Health Sciences induct 58 medical graduands into the profession.
Speaking about his experience while he was a student. campusreporter.ng shared “Well, I knew it would make me and my family happy so I strived hard for it. And I knew I had the capabilities to do it, I had friends that always advise me and motivate me in my academic journey,” he said.
He, however, advised the undergraduate students who have the intention to achieve this feat to be focused and should abstain from imitating their colleagues in reading, noting that understanding oneself is one of the ways in achieving great victory in one’s academics.
”If you are going to mimic someone, better do it in your way. Don’t force yourself to be someone else,” he advised.
