Over the years imported goods are seen as ostentatious goods, given its ability to increase the social status of its owner. But with NAF it’s a different ball game entirely.
With the turbulent attacks on Nigerian citizens by Boko Haram the NAF will be more than willing to do all in an attempt to restore the peace that was once experienced in our land. And the fighters jet is one of the weapons used in the achievement of this objective. But getting spare parts(especially brake pads) was almost as difficult as getting Boko Haram for arrest.
On this basis the NAF made a survey on a Nigerian Vehicle Manufacturing Company; INNOSON VEHICLE MANUFACTURING (IVM) across the nation and deemed IVM capable of making supplies of spare parts for her(NAF) fighter’s jet.
That led to a partnership deal between NAF and IVM to supply spare parts for her fighters jet.
This deal according to IVM’s spokesperson; Cornel Osigwe said, it means a lot to the development of the company. Ever since the deal was signed, the company has not recovered from the list of high profile customers, which served as a green card to the development of the company. One of which was former senator, Ben Murray Burce. The productive capacity also increased in other to meet up with demands of NAF and that automatically increased his 7,000 labour force, to a number worthy of meeting with demands.
This deal has also been a great blessing to Nigeria’s goal of increasing the consumption of home-made products.
