Mechanical Engineering Students, Kwara State Polytechnic Develops a Free Hand Wash Mechanism

The mechanical engineering students of the Kwara state polytechnic have proven their intellectual capacity by developing a touch-free hand wash mechanism.

We presume this must have been borne out of agitations going viral on the media sometimes ago that says, “Assume I have contracted the virus and I went to wash my hands, I open the tap with the supposedly-infected hand, wash and when done, close back the tap with the washed hand, won’t I get the virus back?”

The mechanism is such a perfect answer to the agitations. It was made with a pedal to be controlled by the leg with just a tap to get the soap out and also the water without having to touch, tap or hold anything with your hands in order not to pick the virus.

The Government of Kwara state having received the live update came into the school to see the wonderful invention. This was shared in a video. They applauded the students, lecturers and institution for the great innovation and has promised to get the students to do more to be shared across offices in strategic places.

We won’t be wrong to conclude that God has blessed Nigerians with great problem-solving skills. We hope the government supports more of the great brains as often as they are identified for maximum efficiency and productivity for the growth of Nigeria as a whole.
