COVID-19: 200 Bed Capacity Special Care Hospital Built by Abdul Samad Rabiu

Abdul Samad Rabiu is a philanthropist by nature. He is a son to one of the Past Nigerian Industrialists of the 70s and 80s. He is the founder and chairman of BUA Group which specializes in sugar, cement, ports and terminals, real estate, agricultural produce, oil and mill, rice import, edible oil, flour, and iron and steel products. BUA Group houses BUA Cement factory, BUA oils, BUA ports and terminals, BUA Sugar, BUA real estates.

Mr Abdul inherited his business traits from his late Father and has since remained dogged in business ventures. Abdul Samad Rabiu started a career in business in 1988 when he first established BUA International Limited for the primary purpose of trading goods. He had his major breakthrough in 1990, when government-owned Delta Steel Company, contracted (BUA) to supply its raw materials in exchange for finished iron products. Later that year, BUA through Rabiu, expanded further into steel, producing billets, importing iron ore, and constructing multiple rolling mills in Nigeria.

Mr Abdul Samad also founded BUA Foundation through which does his philanthrophic gestures, he supervised the construction of a 7,000-square-meter pediatric ward he donated at the Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital. He also constructed the Centre for Islamic Studies at Bayero University Kano amongst several other kind gestures.

After the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, Mr Abdul Samad has donated approximately 6.3billion naira to support the fight against Coronavirus with Rivers, Kwara, Lagos and Kano states getting support as well.

As an extension of his philanthropic acts, he has built a 200-bed capacity Special Care Hospital in Kano to support health care in Nigeria.
