Corp Member Supplied Classroom Desks and Renovates School in Oyo State

The purpose of the National Youth Service Corp programme keeps projecting itself and it’s importance in various ways. The NYSC has a cardinal unit called the Community Development Service where Corp Members are licensed to come up with the initiative of projects to better their immediate community. Corp Members have since leveraged on this to showcase the relevance of the scheme to the country.

The Corp Member, Funmilayo Adejumo, with state code OY/18B/5435, while speaking with the  TribuneOnline said she embarked on the mission to renovate the school and provide the desks because she witnessed the poor learning conditions of the students learning in the school.

In her words, “Coming to this school for the first time I noticed the poor learning conditions the students had to learn in and I decided to do something about it, which eventually led actualisation of the renovation of Army Day Secondary School, Odogbo.”

Taking details, Funmilayo Adejumo renovated a block of classrooms and donated 50 desks to the students of Army Day Secondary School Odogbo, Ibadan.

While commissioning the project on Wednesday, June 24th, 2020 at the 2 Div Nigerian Army, Odogbo Cantonment, the Oyo State NYSC coordinator; Zonal Inspector, Mr Adekeye; GOC Major General O.B. Omozoje; Mrs Grace Ogbuogebe amongst others present at the ceremony commended corp member for the magnanimous feat she achieved and the exemplary life of a leader she exhibited.

Funmilayo Adejumo at the event urged other corp members to take every part of the scheme seriously and use it to their advantage and betterment of lives and generations. She also encouraged everyone to pay attention to details in their community and always strive to lend a helping hand for only then can we make Nigeria progress and much better.
