Calabar Corp Member Secures Scholarship For Secondary School Students

Aside from the rigorous task, allowee and fun that NYSC brings, a certified corp member must be able to add a notable development to his or host community (Community Development Service)

Miss Chibueze Alexandra-Tochi, is a corps member who recently served our motherland in Calabar at the Nigerian Navy. She gives back to the society project (CDS) was an applaudable one.

In collaboration with Nigerian Navy, Tochi placed two students from Margret Ekpo secondary school by the name Esther Sunday (JSS 1) and Imoh Alexandra  (SS1) on scholarship.

Included in the scholarship are two orphans from Uwnase Motherless Babies home named Esther Imoke and John Imoke, JSS 3 and SSSI, respectively, from Model Secondary School. She donated the sum of 200,000 Naria to Esther and John Imoke for their secondary school education.

Dr Peter Ipole, Director of Administration in the Ministry of Humanity and Social Welfare, who received the money on behalf of the children, thanked the corps member and the Navy for their kind gesture to the less privileged children.

Tochi said the essence of this giving is to encourage the young generation to be serious in educational pursuit.
