He is from Katsina State. He lectures at Department of Mathematics and Computer Science, Faculty of Natural and Applied Sciences, Umaru Musa Yar’adua University Katsina Nigeria.

Bashir Isa Dodo’s distinct knowledge about computers purposed a lot of research in medical image analysis and video processing. Other research interests include software engineering, motion detection, computer vision, image processing and big data analytics.

One of his research led to the birth of a new algorithm for Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) equipment.

The OTC equipment is designed to separate the retina into seven individual layers segment. He developed an OCT algorithm with the idea of continuity and discontinuity where one layer of the retina transitions to the next.
To diagnose eye-related disease, the OCT machines are used to produced non- invasive three-dimensional photographs of the patient eyes.

With his innovation accuracy and speed is assured in detecting a patient’s damaged eyes by doctors.
