Arch Bishop Alexander Chibuzor Ibezim, and his wife; Mrs Martha Chioma Ibezim is the set men over the Anglican Diocese in Anambra State.
Due to the COVID 19 pandemic, Arch Bishop Ibezim invited the seventeen Decons of the Awka to Emmaus House, so as to distribute food items through all Parishes in Awka. The food items- Tubers of yam, one hundred thousand kilogrammes of rice, cartoons of noddles, cartons of biscuits and hand sanitizer, he said, was to provide help for members of the Dioceses in this downtime and to add up for what has been provided.
He said the lockdown has subjected a lot of people to hardship. And this is a time where Pastors are to work together and show their relevance to followers, while the wealthy are to make available their wealth to Kingdom value by extending help to the poor.
His wife, who is the President of Mother’s Union, Women’s and Girls Guild Province Of The Niger, commended her husband for a bold step taken and encouraged women to build up family ties, established alters and more importantly become closer to their spouses and children.
Venerable David Monanu who is the Chairman of Diocesan Clergy Association and Archdeacon, Ichida Archdeaconry, appreciated the kind gesture of the Religious Leaders and said the provision will go a long way in encouraging members of the church who are presently experiencing a hard time.
