Aliko Dangote’s Foundation Donates Laboratory To Test For COVID-19 In Kano State.

It’s true that the confirmed cases of COVID- 19 in Nigeria is appreciating but that of Lagos and Kano is increasing in rapid succession, especially Kano where people in their hundreds lose their lives to due to the pandemic.

Due to Kano’s escalating figures of confirmed COVID-19 cases, any assistance to curb the pandemic will be a great deal of help.

In May 2020, help was offered to Kano when Arnergy Solar partnered with 54gene to provide a Solar powered Mobile laboratory where COVID-19 can be tested. The project was donated by Aliko Dangote Foundation in Kano State.

As of 22 May, about 20 states in Nigeria was confirmed without a laboratory for testing COVID-19.

Adequate testing is a necessary strategy for fighting COVID-19.

The laboratory has the capacity to test 400 COVID-19 cases daily. With 400 test daily, the newly established laboratory will be able to carry out 12,000 test monthly. The laboratory was commissioned by Zouera Youssoufou; Governor of Kano State and Chikwe Ihekweazu, MD Aliko Dangote Foundation
