A viral video of a young talented boxer, Ayomide Adeyemo traveling through the internet was identified by the Minister of Sports, Sunday Dare on the social media pages of The Punch Newspaper recently. He was attracted and verily challenged at the passion behind the act.
Earlier on assumption of duty of Minister, Sunday Dare, He had proposed a grassroot development agenda with a vision to ensuring young athletes desire and efficiently combine sports with education.
In his words, he will be registering the young boy in a Boxing Academy to further encourage and boost his growth; he will also be sponsoring his education to being a literate. He added that his upkeep will not be neglected as some financial support would be stretched toward that angle as well.
Reactions to the video also pointed that the young boy could be a next world superstar in the boxing world if he can be properly groomed, monitored and mentored. That said, the young boy has been concluded to resume tutelage under his father Mr Adeyemo, who will double as his trainer too.
Minister Sunday Dare has started a very impressive and highly commendable move. In line with this agenda, several other young minds are being identified in other areas of sports such as tennis and football and same measured are being meted on them. We appreciate the Minister of Sports and hope that this good work will continue.
